Memorial Trees

The trees shown above are located in front of the administrative building and along Kiwanis Road to the Drama Center. The flowering trees were planted as living memorials to special persons endeared by all Kiwanians in the District.

There are a series of them, each with a plaque noting the past governor, past first lady or other contributor to Kiwanis in New York who was remembered with the tree's planting.

Below is the plaque marking a tree dedicated to the memory of former First Lady Janis Calabrese.

Other plaques remember Distinguished Past Governor William Spataro; Past First Lady Alma Miekam; Past Honorary Governor Rich Trupkin; Past Governor John McMahon; Past First Lady Mildred Leahy; Past First Lady Roddie Hart; Past Governor Larry Hapgood; Past District Foundation President John Gaglione, and one honoring all Past Governors as of 1995 when the plaque was installed.
